1. About AMD Electrics

This website is operated by:

Legal name: AMD Electrics

Business correspondence address: Empress Parade, Chingford Rd, London E4 8SL

Email: info@amdelectrics.co.uk

Telephone: 07916 151 824

2. Scope of these terms

These terms explain how our website may be used and the general basis on which we offer electrical services.

Submitting an enquiry does not create a contract for electrical work.

Before a booking becomes binding, we will provide the applicable quotation, scope, price or pricing basis, payment arrangements and relevant terms. These service terms apply only where provided and incorporated into the agreement before it is made.

Any changes must be expressly agreed. Nothing in these terms limits a consumer’s statutory rights.

3. Website information

Our website provides general information about our services. It is not a substitute for a property inspection or professional assessment of a particular electrical installation.

Service availability, coverage and appointment times must be confirmed with us.

Reviews describe individual customers’ experiences. They do not guarantee an identical outcome, price or response time.

We aim to keep information accurate but may update or correct it. This does not affect information that forms part of an existing contract.

4. Quotations and estimates

A quotation sets out the agreed scope and price, together with any stated assumptions or exclusions.

An estimate is an informed indication of likely cost, not a fixed-price quotation.

Before you agree to work, we will explain:

  • The proposed work.
  • The price, or how it will be calculated.
  • Applicable VAT and any other unavoidable charges.
  • Any agreed call-out, diagnostic or attendance charge.
  • Any deposit and payment stages.
  • Relevant exclusions and making-good arrangements.

Additional charges will not be imposed without your agreement.

5. Changes and unforeseen conditions

Electrical work may reveal concealed faults, unsafe installations or conditions that could not reasonably be identified beforehand.

Where additional work is needed, we will explain the issue and seek agreement on the revised scope and price before proceeding.

If an immediate safety concern arises, we will explain any necessary isolation or other protective action as soon as reasonably practicable. Further remedial work will be agreed separately.

6. Access and customer responsibilities

You must have authority to instruct the work or obtain the necessary permission.

Please provide relevant information about the property, known hazards, access restrictions and any approvals required.

We need reasonable access to the work area and relevant electrical equipment. Please keep children, pets and other occupants safely away from the work area.

Tell us about any equipment or circumstances that may be affected by interruption of the electricity supply.

We may pause work where conditions are unsafe, access is unavailable or necessary permissions are missing. We will discuss the consequences and any reasonable, previously agreed charges.

7. Appointments and completion

We will agree appointment arrangements and any relevant completion timetable.

Where no completion time is agreed, consumer services will be carried out within a reasonable time.

If delays arise, we will communicate with you and discuss revised arrangements. Nothing in this section removes any legal remedy available to you.

8. Standards of work and certification

We will carry out services with reasonable care and skill and in accordance with applicable requirements.

The agreed scope will identify relevant inspection, testing, certification or notification arrangements.

Any certification relates to the work or installation assessed and its stated limitations. It does not automatically certify unrelated parts of a property.

We may use suitably competent employees or subcontractors. Where your contract is with us, we remain responsible for performing our contractual obligations.

9. Materials and making good

Materials and equipment supplied will be as agreed and suitable for their intended purpose.

Any limitations concerning customer-supplied items will be discussed before installation.

Electrical work can require access through walls, ceilings or other finishes. We will explain reasonably foreseeable disruption and agree what making good, decoration or specialist reinstatement is included.

We remain responsible for damage where required by law.

10. Payment

The quotation or booking confirmation will state the payment terms, including any deposit, instalments and final-payment date.

No deposit or payment deadline should be assumed unless agreed.

If you dispute an invoice, please contact us promptly, explaining the issue. We will investigate and discuss an appropriate resolution.

We will not apply an undisclosed late-payment fee or treat every deposit as automatically non-refundable.

11. Consumer cancellation rights

If you are a consumer and make a qualifying contract online, by telephone or away from our business premises, you will normally have a statutory 14-day cancellation period.

For a service contract, this normally expires 14 days after the day the contract is made.

We will provide the cancellation information applicable to your booking before you are bound. Different rules may apply where goods are supplied.

To cancel, send a clear statement to info@amdelectrics.co.uk or our correspondence address. You may use the form below, but do not have to.

Where statutory cancellation applies, refunds will be made within the legally required period, normally using the original payment method.

12. Starting work during the cancellation period

If you want work to begin before the statutory cancellation period ends, we will obtain your express request and any acknowledgement required by law.

If you then cancel, you may have to pay a proportionate amount for services properly supplied before cancellation, but only where the legal requirements for that payment have been met.

For a fully performed service, the cancellation right is lost only where the required prior consent and acknowledgement have been obtained.

We will not treat an ordinary enquiry or acceptance of these website terms as an automatic request to waive cancellation rights.

13. Urgent repairs

A specific exception may apply where you expressly request a visit for urgent repairs or maintenance.

That exception is limited to the urgent work requested and necessary replacement parts. It does not automatically cover additional services or unrelated goods.

We will explain the applicable position when arranging the visit.

14. Other cancellations and rescheduling

Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel or rearrange.

Outside any statutory cancellation right, any cancellation charge must be fair, reflect our actual net loss and take account of costs saved or work reallocated. It will not exceed what we are legally entitled to recover.

If we cancel, we will explain the position and refund payments for services not supplied, subject to any lawful entitlement for work already completed.

15. Problems and complaints

Please contact us with your name, property address, relevant invoice or booking reference and a description of the issue.

Email: info@amdelectrics.co.uk

Telephone: 07916 151 824

We will investigate and seek to resolve the matter.

Where consumer services have not been supplied with reasonable care and skill, statutory remedies may include repeat performance or a price reduction, depending on the circumstances.

Any commercial guarantee is additional to your statutory rights.

If a complaint remains unresolved, we will provide information about any applicable alternative dispute resolution scheme and whether we are required or willing to participate.

16. Liability

We are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breach of contract or failure to use reasonable care and skill, subject to applicable law.

We do not exclude or limit liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by negligence.
  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
  • Breach of statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
  • Any other liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

No wording on this website removes rights you have under consumer law.

17. Website use and intellectual property

You may use the website for lawful purposes and view or print information for personal reference.

You must not misuse the website, introduce malicious software or attempt unauthorised access.

Website content is owned by us or used with permission. Third-party logos, photographs and customer reviews remain subject to their respective owners’ rights.

18. External links and privacy

External websites operate under their own terms and privacy information.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. Separate cookie information applies where relevant.

19. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of mandatory protections or court rights that apply where you live.

20. Changes to these terms

Updated website terms apply from publication. Changes do not retrospectively alter an existing service agreement unless lawfully agreed.
